s.e.u.o. salvo error u omisión | Except for error or omission

Todo comenzó con un desliz. Nada nuevo: resultado de un error de percepción, la mente imagina un peldaño y el paso en falso supone entonces aquello que marca la pauta para la presencia de un escalón.

Salvo error u omisión es una locución lingüística recurrente que sirve para adelantarse tramposamente al surgimiento de cualquier errata y, con ello, eximir al actante de cometer tal descuido. La presente exhibición toma su título de dicha locución y se vale de la posibilidad del error para explorar, desde los espacios imaginarios, las potencias discursivas del meter la pata.
El trabajo de Daniela Flores Arias (1994) toma el accidente como punto de partida, siendo el faux pas un concepto que trae, literalmente, al plano de lo real aquellas trampas del lenguaje. De manera que, a través de este paso en falso, podemos imaginar la arquitectura como un espacio mental, y al cuerpo como condición de posibilidad para aquellos escenarios imposibles.
Entre el peldaño y la tabica, entre la huella y la contrahuella, se esconde una negación pero también un intersticio: la muestra propone abrazar aquello equívoco, aquello que no pudo ser o que no tiene razón de ser, a fin de repensar el flujo de las ideas en proceso como una invitación para dejar de hacer. Si la fugacidad del ahora nos echa constantemente en cara un sin fin de objetos herméticos, ¿qué supondría esbozar una pausa y cuestionar cuán imposible resulta aquello que no pudo ser? Como una negociación entre el espacio mental y el espacio real, en esta sala nos proponemos dislocar la legalidad del plano, dar paso a la incertidumbre y proyectar otros espacios, otros momentos. Nos negamos a la acción. ¿Será que con esta ficción del entorno podremos llegar a algún acuerdo? Probablemente no llegaremos a nada.

It all started with a slip. Nothing new: the result of a perception error, the mind imagines a step, and the misstep then becomes what sets the tone for the presence of a sudden stair.

"Salvo error u omisión" (Except for error or omission) is a recurrent linguistic expression that serves to cunningly anticipate the emergence of any typo and, with it, exempt the actor from committing such a mistake. The present exhibition takes its title from this expression and takes advantage of the possibility of error to explore, from imaginary spaces, the discursive potential of putting one's foot in it.

Daniela Flores Arias's work (1994) takes the accident as a starting point, with faux pas being a concept that literally brings the traps of language into the realm of the real. So, through this misstep, we can imagine architecture as a mental space, and the body as a condition for those impossible scenarios.

Between the step and the riser, between the footprint and the counterfoot, there is a denial but also an interstice: the exhibition proposes to embrace that which is ambiguous, that which could not be or has no reason to be, in order to rethink the flow of ideas in the process as an invitation to stop doing. If the fleeting nature of the present constantly confronts us with an endless array of hermetic objects, what would it mean to sketch a pause and question how impossible that which could not be is? As a negotiation between mental space and real space, in this room, we propose to dislocate the legality of the plane, give way to uncertainty, and project other spaces, other moments. We refuse action. Will we be able to reach any agreement with this fiction of the environment? We probably won't reach anything.
